The Arab Parliament is working on a guiding law through the Committee on Social, Educational, Cultural Affairs, Women and Youth, which will be a general and comprehensive legal framework of reference to combat all forms of violence against women, according to a participatory approach with the chairs of the committees in the Arab councils and parliaments concerned with women, in order to ensure the effective protection of Arab women in all fields.
The draft law comes within the framework of the “Arab Document on Women’s Rights” prepared by the Arab Parliament and presented to the Council of the League of Arab States at the summit in March 2017, and launched in a ceremony held in the United Arab Emirates in October 2019.
