From 2013 until the end of 2014, the Libyan Women’s Platform for Peace (LWPP) conducted a series of round tables to discuss the inclusion of women’s rights in the Libyan constitution.
Activists, legal experts, judges, and religious scholars have worked together and reviewed this issue from the point of view of Islamic Sharia and the international laws. These efforts, led to issuing the “Charter for Libyan Women Constitutional Rights” which was launched on Monday Nov1.
The authors of this document urged the members of the Constitution Drafting Assembly to carefully consider the articles of this document and to benefit from and use it as a guide for drafting the final draft constitution.
