The coalition of women MPs from the Arab countries held its General Assembly and It Administrative Board Meeting to discuss the most important developments in the Middle East and North Africa with regard to women’s issues.
The members stressed the importance of expanding networking with stakeholders and the importance of cooperating with governments and parliamentarians in order to reduce the underage marriage for girls, especially that this type of marriage takes place in most cases without legal documents, which results in births without identification documents. The members also stressed the importance of working on Reducing violence against women in politics, especially violence and discrimination against women in political parties.
The annual administrative and financial report prepared annually by the coalition was discussed, and the road map prepared by the coalition to pass the law on protection from Iraqi domestic violence was discussed.
