The coalition of women MPs from Arab Countries to Combat Violence against Women held a meeting on April 27, 2020 to address the most important things that will be focused on in the coalition plan in the coming stage. Members from Iraq, Palestine, Egypt, Morocco, Sudan, Tunisia, and Jordan attended, in addition to Dr. Dina Melhem, the director of MENA and West Asia at the Westminster Democracy Foundation.
H.E. Bani Mustafa, Chairperson of the Coalition, indicated that the Coalition is issuing a number of publications related to its core work in combating violence against women in all its forms. She affirmed the necessity of holding a series of dialogues remotely about domestic violence and its increase as a result of Covid 19 pandemic. It’s worth mentioning that the coalition will issue a statement condemning the increasing domestic violence.
