The elections witnessed a “great decline” in the representation of women in parliament. Women obtained 34 seats out of 407 seats with a percentage of 8%. This percentage is a huge drop compared to the percentage of women in 2012 and 2017 elections. In 2012 Women obtained 145 seats out of 462 with a percentage of 31% and in 2017 women obtained 120 seats out of 462 with a percentage of 26%.
